With over 30 years of health and safety, ergonomic, consulting and training experience, Blaine has recently retired as a Health & Safety Consultant with Public Services Health & Safety Association (PSHSA). During his career, Blaine gained experience in numerous sectors, including education, municipal government, healthcare, manufacturing, construction and transportation, working with clients to provide valuable technical leadership and training, including the assessment of emerging occupational health and safety trends and their impact on organizations. Blaine has developed and implemented a variety of OHS programs and has facilitated the training necessary to increase the skills and safety awareness among employers and workers at all levels.

Complementing his extensive work experience, Blaine holds a Master of Science in Ergonomics/Human Factors Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo, an Honours Diploma in Safety Engineering Technology and a Certificate of Occupational Hygiene and Safety from Humber College. He is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), an Associate Ergonomics Professional (AEP), a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) and a Certified Environmental Specialist (CES). His strong educational background and technical knowledge has contributed to his expertise and passion in the field of environmental health and safety. Blaine’s formal education combined with his extensive work experience and strong interpersonal skills has enabled him to design and facilitate OHS training programs and courses for numerous organizations and effectively share his knowledge with students of all ages.

Blaine has been employed as a full-time instructor at the Centre for Environmental Training at Niagara College, addressing groups of up to 1,500 at professional workshops and conferences on a variety of health and safety issues. Blaine has also facilitated numerous Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) Certification programs over his career, and is an approved instructor for the province's Working at Heights certification program.
