Illumisoft launches Sanilume

Ottawa-based lighting company Illumisoft has developed health and safety technology that will help in Canada's fight against the spread of COVID-19. Sanilume is a proprietary, germ-killing, Ultraviolet light system that is proven to instantly remove 99 per cent of common pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, mould spores and funguses.

“Our Sanilume system is a Canadian solution to a global crisis. Our product will give schools, governments and businesses across Canada an extra tool to reopen knowing they have left no stone unturned in ensuring the health and well-being of staff, students, and customers,” said Mark Ulhmann, president of Sanilume division. “We see our product as being especially important now that there is growing evidence that COVID-19 is an airborne pathogen.”

“At Illumisoft, we are keenly aware of the severe impact that the current COVID-19 crisis is having across the spectrum of our daily lives. Children need to be able to return safely to classrooms, and businesses need tools to safely re-open. We are pleased to be able to release the SaniLume and work with Canadian businesses, educators, and government to help them re-open and protect our schools, employees and customers,” said Brett Nicholds, Illumisoft chief executive officer.

The Sanilume system safely uses the power of UVC light, which has been used for over 50 years as a scientifically-proven method of pathogen disinfection.

“We are simply using the technology in a proprietary method to dramatically increase its efficiency and effectiveness,” Uhlmann added.
