A waste recycling employee has been killed at a facility in Sussex, N.B., and the province’s safety regulator has launched an investigation into the fatal incident.

WorkSafeNB confirmed that the worker, employed at Fero Waste Recycling in Sussex, died last Thursday. The company “provides waste collection, management and recycling services, according to its website,” CTV News reported.

In a statement to CTV News Atlantic, WorkSafeNB said it is now examining the circumstances of the death. “As with all fatalities and serious incidents, we are investigating to determine the root cause. And as this is an active investigation, we cannot provide further details,” the agency said.
