Canada Post employee attacked and robbed in south Edmonton

An employee from the Canada Post was taken to the hospital after being attacked and robbed by four people in south Edmonton, as reported in an article by CTV News.

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) were called to the area of 48 Avenue and 104 A Street at 5:35 p.m.

Carolin Maran, the spokesperson for the Edmonton police, said that a postal worker was reportedly approached by four individuals who threw an unspecified powder in her face before stealing her mail keys.

"One of the suspects also reportedly presented a knife. The suspects then fled the scene on foot,” said Maran.

The EPS then conducted a search around the area but did not make any arrests. The injuries sustained by the victim were not life threatening.

“We are grateful for the assistance of the members of the public who called Edmonton Police Service, and they responded quickly to the scene,” said Lisa Liu, a spokesperson for Canada Post.

Liu further stated that the organization was aware of the incident that occurred but did not confirm if any mail was stolen by the suspects.

"The incident is currently under investigation by Edmonton Police Service, so it would not be appropriate to comment further on the matter,” she said.
