Department of Labour investigating the incident
A worker has died following an incident at a poultry facility in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley, and the province’s Department of Labour is investigating the fatality.
The department received a report of an incident that occurred overnight between Wednesday and Thursday at a facility in Glenmont, N.S. The worker later died as a result of the incident, according to CBC News.

Employer statement and support measures
In a written statement, Eden Valley Poultry president and CEO Jeff Purcell confirmed the fatality involved one of the company’s employees. “Earlier this morning, a tragic incident occurred at a farm we work with, resulting in the loss of one of our employees,” Purcell said, in comments reported by CBC.
“We are deeply saddened by this loss, and our thoughts are with the employee’s family, friends and co-workers,” the statement said. “Our priority is supporting those affected and co-operating fully with authorities, who are conducting an investigation.”
Purcell said that, out of respect for the family, no additional information would be shared. CBC reported that no further details from the company have been provided.
