Partnership pushes the boundaries of headset technology to improve safety
LIFT Safety, a supplier of industrial safety products, announces an upgrade to its RADIX Type II safety helmet by integrating Twiceme’s advanced near-field communication (NFC) technology. This partnership with the Swedish safety-tech company is set to revolutionize helmet functionality, enhancing worker safety and preparedness in high-risk industries.
The upgraded RADIX helmet, which is being displayed at the NSC Safety Congress and Expo in Orlando, Florida, now features Twiceme’s Help the Helpers™ (HTH) technology. This innovation allows essential information to be instantly available to first responders, streamlining the emergency response process. The NFC chip embedded under the helmet shell enables workers to store personal identification and critical details, accessible via smartphone, offering first responders vital information at the scene of an accident.
"In emergency scenarios, the response time can significantly impact survival rates," explains Twiceme. "This technology enables workers and bystanders to quickly alert authorities, locate injured workers, and provide essential identification details uploaded by the wearer using the Twiceme mobile app."
LIFT Safety has been at the forefront of industrial protection for over two decades, and its RADIX helmet, launched in 2022, has already set new standards for comfort and impact protection. The helmet's four-point LUX Suspension system ensures a secure fit, while a magnetic quick-lock and adjustable chinstrap make it ideal for diverse work environments, both at height and on the ground. The ventilated shell protects workers from job site hazards, and now, with Twiceme's addition, it offers much more than physical protection.
Rory Craig, senior industrial designer at LIFT Safety, explains the motivation behind the partnership: "The original RADIX helmet features cutting-edge design, but as part of our mission to continuously innovate, we saw room to add new technology to keep industrial workers on the front line as safe as possible. Twiceme’s safety technology will empower workers in emergency scenarios and also help them ingrain safety in their daily routines via self-guided daily equipment health checks."
Twiceme’s Equipment Health feature is another standout addition. Workers can now easily conduct regular self-inspections of their helmets, ensuring compliance with safety standards and avoiding the use of compromised or expired equipment. This feature directly supports OSHA’s recommendations on the proper evaluation of head protection.
Christian Connolly, CEO of Twiceme, highlights the synergy between the two companies: "The partnership with LIFT Safety was a natural fit given the company’s joint focus on design and innovation. By adding our state-of-the-art safety technology into LIFT’s RADIX helmets, we enable general contractors and other industrial segments like mining and oil and gas to take a digital approach to establishing safety in their daily operations."
The upgraded LIFT Safety RADIX helmet, featuring Twiceme technology, is expected to hit the market in Q1 of 2025. The product is being showcased at the NSC Safety Congress and Expo from September 16 to 18, where attendees can see it firsthand.
