Calgary police are investigating the collapse of lighting and video equipment that injured eight people during a weekend pop-up market at City Hall Plaza, according to a report.

The incident occurred during the Naija Market Day event, which celebrates Nigerian culture with music, food, and artisan goods, noted The Canadian Press (CP).

The falling equipment struck seven adults and one youth, all of whom sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not confirmed whether the individuals have since been released from hospital, according to the report posted in .
