Halifax construction fall injures two workers

Nova Scotia’s labour authorities are investigating a workplace incident in Halifax’s north end that left two construction workers injured earlier this week.

Emergency crews were called to a report of “an industrial accident in the 2700 block of Robie Street around 9:15 a.m.” on Tuesday, according to CTV News. The incident occurred at a construction site on Robie Street in Halifax on April 28, 2026.

Police told the pub location that one worker suffered minor injuries, while the other sustained “serious but non-life-threatening injuries.” Both individuals were taken to hospital by Emergency Health Services.

The identities of the injured workers have not been released, and no information has been provided on their specific duties at the time of the incident.

File transferred to labour department

Halifax Regional Police said the matter has been turned over to the province’s Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration, which is responsible for enforcing occupational health and safety legislation at workplaces across Nova Scotia.

A department spokesperson confirmed that a safety officer attended the Robie Street site on Tuesday as part of the provincial response.
