Levitt-Safety and NLT celebrate approval of respirator designed and manufactured in Toronto
Levitt-Safety and its manufacturing division, Northern Light Technologies (NLT), have announced that their Pleats Plus® N95 respirator has received official approval from the U.S. National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), under approval number TC-84A-9892.
The NIOSH certification confirms that the respirator meets stringent technical and quality assurance standards. In addition to NIOSH approval, the product complies with ASTM F2100 Level 3 standards and is certified to the CSA Z94.4.1:21 standard for respiratory protection.
Designed and manufactured in Toronto, the Pleats Plus® N95 is intended for use in both healthcare and industrial settings. It offers particulate filtration at the N95 level and has been tested for flammability, fluid resistance (160 mmHg), and biocompatibility. The respirator is available in two sizes—small/medium and medium/large—to ensure a better fit and increased user comfort.
Production of the NIOSH-labelled respirator is underway, with availability expected in mid-December 2025.
Levitt-Safety, a Canadian safety distributor with over 90 years of industry experience, collaborates with NLT to supply Canadian-made respiratory protection solutions. NLT’s facility in Toronto underwent a formal NIOSH inspection in September 2025 prior to receiving approval.
