More than 9,700 participants attended conference and expo in Orlando earlier this summer

Attendance at the American Society of Safety Professionals’ annual conference climbed in Orlando, with 6,164 workplace safety and health professionals registered on-site and more than 9,700 people participating when including a livestream session and exhibitor representatives.
“We continue to see an immense desire from safety professionals to network with colleagues and stay current on best practices, industry trends and the latest product innovations,” said ASSP President Linda Tapp, CSP, ALCM, CPTD. “The turnout was exceptional and made Safety 2025 a significant success in many ways.”
Held July 22-24 at the Orange County Convention Center, Safety 2025 was among the organization’s strongest draws, surpassed only by the sold-out Safety 2024 in Denver. The event is one of America’s largest annual conferences focused on advancing workplace safety and health, a series that began in Chicago in 1962.
The expo was a major driver of traffic, featuring 683 vendor booths across more than 134,000 square feet — the largest in ASSP history — alongside tech talks and flash sessions, a Career Advancement Center and the Runway Apparel and PPE Fashion Show. “Our expo hall is highly engaging and reflects the growing partnerships we have with many companies to provide practical safety solutions,” Tapp said.
Nearly half of attendees — 2,797 — were first-timers, and about one-third of the crowd were non-members. ASSP offered a free year of membership to those who had never joined previously. Organizers said the influx of newcomers signals continued growth for both the society and the occupational safety and health profession.
“We’re proud to be a global leader in providing professional development for the workplace safety and health community,” Tapp said. “Our event shares case studies and new safety approaches along with vast networking opportunities that help practitioners solve safety challenges and advance their careers.”
Attendees also surpassed a $15,000 fundraising goal for the ASSP Foundation, supported by a dollar-for-dollar match from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. The foundation promotes occupational safety and health as a career choice and supports building a sustainable talent pipeline.
ASSP’s annual conference — now in its 64th year — is a staple for safety leaders seeking practical guidance and peer networking, with programming that typically spans general sessions, more than 200 education sessions and a vast expo.
Looking ahead, Safety 2026 is scheduled for June 15-17 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, the largest exhibit facility on the West Coast. Anaheim is known for its world-famous theme parks and has been called “the epicenter of fun in Southern California.” Organizers say groups planning to attend can save on the full conference, with discounts available through ASSP.
