An 18-year-old woman in Saskatchewan died in a vehicle versus pedestrian collision last week.

The incident happened on March 14 on Highway #1 near the Manitoba Expressway, according to Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS).

While the female worker was working, she was “struck by her co-worker in a work vehicle at a low rate of speed,” noted the police in a press release.

In a separate press release issued on March 14, MJPS said it responded to an accident involving someone trapped under a vehicle on Highway #1 near Lakeview Road at approximately 9:16 a.m. on March 14.

Once on the scene, police determined it was a single-vehicle accident with an individual being struck by the vehicle.

The worker was immediately transported to the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw and then was taken to Regina.

She succumbed to her injuries on Monday in a Regina hospital.

MJPS has notified her next of kin, it said.

The police did not provide further details about the worker’s death. The police and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service are investigating the incident.

No charges have been laid in relation to the worker’s death, police said according to reports from CBC and CTV News.
