Ontario worker pinned under semi-truck

A suffered life-threatening injuries after he was pinned under a semi-truck vehicle in Ontario.

The incident happened on Friday, at the city of Thorold in the province. 

The worker was pinned under the axle of a semi-truck at his workplace, according to a report from independent broadcaster CHCH.

Emergency crews were called to the workplace – in the area of Thorold Stone and Davis roads – shortly after 3 p.m.

Responders found the worker under the semi-truck suffering from unstable vital signs and chest and abdominal pain, Bryce Brunarski, Niagara EMS spokesperson, said in the CHCH report.

An Ornge air ambulance transported the man in his 40s to Hamilton General Hospital with critical injuries, according to the report.

Niagara police are investigating the incident.
