One worker in Alberta died at the machine shop they were working in, according to reports.

The incident happened on Monday at the Rylex Machine and Supply in Edmonton, reported CTV News and the Edmonton Journal.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called to the work site, located at 4144 78 Ave., around 4:15 p.m, noted CTV News. There, they declared one worker dead at the scene.

Occupational health and safety (OHS) noted that the worker died "after becoming entangled in machinery," according to CTV News.

Officials did not reveal the identity of the worker.

OHS is investigating the incident.

The agency also said it issued a verbal stop-use order for the piece of equipment involved. The order will remain in place until the investigation is finished and the equipment can be used safely.

"We are deeply saddened," general manager Ryan Cummings told CTV News. "Our company is conducting a thorough internal inquiry and actively cooperating with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). We will know more when that process is completed.”
