Breaking News: Canada's Safest Employers Awards 2025 unveiled

The 2025 Canada’s Safest Employers Awards, hosted by Canadian Occupational Safety, honoured the nation’s top organizations and individuals in workplace health, safety, and wellness last night. The gala event brought together industry leaders and innovators to celebrate a shared commitment to safety excellence.

Award recipients reflect on their wins

Erin Buchanan, Vice President Manufacturing at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc., winner of the WSIB Award for Canada’s Best Health & Safety Culture, said:

“To improve our safety KPIs, it wasn’t about top-down policies. It was about transforming the culture—making sure everyone genuinely cares and looks out for each other. We’re honoured, but this is just the start.”

Larry Jones, Vice President of Corporate Health, Safety, and Environment for Ledcor Industries Inc. and Safety Leader of the Year, commented:

“Recognition isn’t the goal. The real highlight is seeing people grow and building everything around a culture of caring. That’s what makes the difference.”
