Foldable floor cranes
The David Round Company has announced that its Ruger Industries Division is now manufacturing foldable stainless steel floor cranes. The portable cranes retract into a compact size when not in use, to save space in storage. Floor cranes provide an ergonomic solution to many material handling challenges. They are smaller, less expensive and safer alternatives to motorized lift trucks. Narrow enough to pass through standard door openings, narrow aisles and elevators, floor cranes can be maneuvered in areas off-limits to other lifting equipment, the company said. The new foldable floor cranes feature 100 per cent stainless steel construction and have no painted surfaces, as paint (even FDA-approved epoxies) is not tolerated on any equipment in many clean rooms. In addition to pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, stainless portable cranes are employed in electronics manufacturing, food processing and other clean room applications. Ruger floor stainless foldable cranes are available with lifting capacities of 1,000 lbs. Construction is exceptionally robust, with structural tubing, a quarter inch to half an inch thick, large casters and totally welded fabrication. Although Ruger portable cranes contain over twice the metal of many competitive cranes with the same lifting capacity, they are easy to manually guide and propel, the company said.
