Humanscale’s award-winning Liberty chair delivers ease of use and comfort in a contemporary mesh task seating solution. Its features include a tri-panel mesh backrest with self-adjusting lumbar support and dynamic counter-balance recline. Research shows that numerous complex adjustments decrease the likelihood that a user will fine-tune a chair to their specific needs, possibly putting them in the unhealthy positions their task chair is specifically designed to prevent. The Liberty chair by designer Niels Diffrient overcomes these obstacles by providing superior ergonomic performance without numerous knobs and manual adjustments, the company said. Liberty’s Form-sensing Mesh Technology provides automatically adjusting lumbar support for 95 per cent of users without the use of clunky external mechanisms and manual adjustments, Humanscale said. Liberty also employs Humanscale’s revolutionary dynamic recline mechanism — developed initially for its Freedom chair, to encourage healthy, spontaneous movement without awkward manual tension adjustments. This allows for comfortable and regular shifts in upper body weight, reducing spinal disc pressure and associated long-term health risks, the company said.
