NanoTech Materials launches Insulative Coat: Cool Touch

NanoTech Materials, Inc. has unveiled a new spray-on thermal coating designed to protect industrial equipment and personnel from high-temperature surfaces. Branded as Insulative Coat: Cool Touch, the water-based coating significantly lowers surface temperatures, offering a safer alternative to conventional insulation methods.

Developed for environments with extreme heat exposure, such as refineries and processing plants, Cool Touch uses NanoTech’s patented Insulative Ceramic Particle (ICP) technology to reduce energy loss and mitigate risks of burns and corrosion. The coating demonstrated strong performance during independent tests, including compliance with the NACE TM21423 and ISO 12944 standards, sustaining protective qualities up to 350°C.

Unlike traditional insulation, Cool Touch is applied in thin layers directly to hot surfaces, forming a seamless, corrosion-resistant barrier suitable for pipes, tanks, and industrial machinery. According to NanoTech, the product also addresses corrosion under insulation (CUI), a persistent issue in sectors like oil and gas.

The company touts Cool Touch as a major step forward in industrial safety and energy efficiency, providing thermal insulation without the drawbacks of bulk insulation systems.
