Streamlight’s new intrinsically safe torch, the 3AA ProPolymer HAZ-LO 7 LED, offers a seven-LED cluster for close-up task lighting, and features ATEX and IECEx safety ratings for use in Zone 0 environments. The lightweight new torch provides seven 5-millimitre ultra-bright white LEDs, which deliver 57 lumens and a 500 candela peak beam intensity over a beam distance of 45 metres. Ideal for detail work or for working at arm’s length, the light offers 24 hours of run time to 10 per cent of its initial lumen output. It is powered by three AA alkaline batteries, and features mechanical battery polarity protection. The new torch is constructed from an engineering polymer resin that is virtually indestructible, shock resistant and anti-static, and which features superior resistance to chemicals and solvents used in many industries, says the manufacturer. The light includes a push-button tail switch for momentary or constant on operation; an integrated and retained face cap lock; and an unbreakable polycarbonate lens with scratch-resistant coating. It weighs only 6.6 ounces and measures 7 inches in length.
