PUMA gets into safety
Ranpro Inc., in partnership with PUMA, has launched the PUMA Technics Safety Shoes. PUMA Technics is the first of three lines of PUMA Safety Shoes to be released in Canada, focused on combining CSA approved protective features with the innovative styling that PUMA is famous for, Ranpro says. Technics shoes feature stylish antique leather uppers with breathable textile inserts, BreathActive linings which allow for increased breathability through a micro-channel system and rapid absorption and release of moisture. PUMA’s durable TPU soles resist abrasion and maintain flexibility at subzero temperatures, while the Evercushion footbeds absorb shock and ensure minimum fatigue to the wearer, says Ranpro.  The line also features PUMA Technics air cells for added comfort and support. Steel toe caps and L-protection midsoles provide the wearer with CSA Z195-09 level protection without sacrificing style and comfort, the company says. The PUMA Technics line of safety shoes will make its Canadian retail debut at Mister Safety Shoes and JobSite WorkWear stores. (NOTE: Ranpro seeks to correct an error in the August-September 2010 issue of COS, featuring this product, which states that the PUMA Technics features "composite steel toe caps". The PUMA Technics shoes just have steel toe caps and not composite steel toe caps.)
