Taking the heat
The new Arc Armor Titanium industrial-grade welding helmet line from Miller Electric Mfg. Co. features three- and four-sensor auto-darkening as well as passive-lens helmets. With a silver color that reflects heat for increased durability and operator comfort, all of the Titanium helmets feature common front cover lenses for decreased inventory, aluminum shield to protect the lens from heat and a shock-absorbing gasket to protect lens from impact, Miller says. This new line of helmets addresses the problem of heat build-up in welding applications that require 300 amps or more, the company says. The three Titanium auto-darkening models (9400, 9400I and 7300) feature auto-on/auto-off and grind mode, independent arc sensors, excellent low-amperage TIG (5 amps), magnifying lens holder, quick-release front cover lens assembly and meet ANSI Z87.1-2003 standards, Miller says.
