Esco Tool launches air-powered saw for ductile iron pipe

Esco Tool of Holliston, Massachusetts, has launched the MILLHOG® APS-438 Air Powered Saw, a field pipe-cutting tool for concrete lined ductile iron pipe used in water-main installation, maintenance and emergency repair.

The pneumatic saw uses a 12-inch abrasive cut-off blade and pairs with an optional WrapTrack® System for pipe from 6 to 60 inches in diameter. An articulating arm keeps the blade on its leading edge, producing square cuts accurate to ±1/16 inch with a 4-inch cutting depth, eliminating torch cutting and grinding.

The saw is suited to installing valves, hydrants, tees and tapping sleeves, and to modifying wastewater and force mains.
