Ladder was wet during the incident
A roofer was taken to hospital in stable condition Wednesday after falling roughly three metres from a ladder at a southwest Calgary home, according to a report.
The fall happened at a residence on Spring Willow Terrace in the community of Springbank, according to CTV News. The worker was employed by Calgary Elite Roofing at the time of the accident.
The company's chief executive told the publication that the man was climbing a ladder that had been secured to the exterior of the house when he lost his footing and fell. He landed on his back after the roughly three-metre drop.

Calgary Elite Roofing said the ladder was wet at the time, which the company indicated may have contributed to the fall, according to the report. Emergency medical services responded to the scene and transported the injured worker to Foothills Medical Centre, where he was listed in stable condition.
Alberta's Occupational Health and Safety branch confirmed the incident and said an investigation into the fall is now underway, according to CTV News. The province's OHS division is responsible for probing workplace accidents to determine whether safety violations played a role.
"One worker was injured after falling from a height," an OHS spokesperson said, according to the report. "It is tragic when a worker is hurt on the job, and our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragedy."
OHS has not released additional details on the specific cause of the fall or whether any workplace safety standards were violated at the site. The investigation remains active.
