Investigation underway following death of Alberta supermarket worker

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in Alberta are looking into the death of a supermarket worker in the province who died earlier this month.

The employee felt unwell while on the job at the T&T Supermarket in Sage Hill, Calgary, reported CTV News.

They were taken to hospital where they died on May 12.

“It is always tragic when a worker dies on the job,” OHS said in a statement, according to the CTV News report.

In an email to the Calgary Herald, T&T confirmed the incident, saying, “We are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred on May 12.”

The employer added it’s currently co-operating with Occupational Health and Safety and providing any information they require.

The reports did not reveal the identity of the worker.
