Avetta unveils safety audit enhancements to boost contractor oversight

Avetta is expanding its workplace safety capabilities with new audit tools aimed at improving transparency and risk management across supply chains. The company unveiled the updates during its North America Summit this week, positioning them as a step toward more data-driven contractor oversight.

The enhancements, built into the Avetta One platform, focus on refining how companies assess and respond to safety risks documented in contractor safety manuals. The new features replace simple pass/fail assessments with detailed analytics, offering hiring clients real-time insight into audit status, rejection reasons, and time to resolution.

“Clients need more than a compliance checkbox—they need clear, timely insight into where risk lives in their supply chains,” said Dawn Andre, Avetta’s chief product officer. “This update helps them spot issues sooner and act before they escalate.”

A redesigned dashboard gives users visibility into who completed audits, when they were done, and where contractors encountered problems. An accompanying analytics feature, called Audit Insights, reveals trends across supplier networks, such as frequently failed audit areas and recurring gaps in training.

In parallel, Avetta is expanding its Safety Maturity Index (SMI) toolset with a new feature, SMI Insights. This allows clients to drill into audit responses and performance categories, enabling more focused interventions.

The updates come as companies across sectors like construction, energy, and manufacturing face rising expectations around contractor due diligence. With growing emphasis on proactive safety management, tools like Avetta’s are designed to support earlier interventions and more strategic compliance decisions.

“Contractor safety can’t be reactive,” said Andre. “These new tools give companies the visibility they need to make smarter, faster decisions.”

Avetta provides SaaS-based contractor management services to over 130,000 suppliers and clients worldwide. Its platform supports industries with high-risk operations, helping firms prequalify contractors, audit safety practices, and monitor ongoing compliance.

The new features are available immediately to existing Avetta One users.
