Ministry of Labour investigating incident
An individual was found dead at a construction site in Ontario earlier this week.
The person’s body was discovered near the Sundial Lakeview Retirement Residence in Orillia this past Sunday, May 25, according to a report from Orillia Matters.
Orillia OPP officers and investigators responded to the scene Sunday afternoon following a 911 call reporting a person “with vital signs absent".
The individual was found at the base of a large crane.
It is not yet clear how the person died or whether they passed away at the scene, Orillia Matters noted.
Ontario’s Ministry of Labour also sent an inspector to the site that same day.
The deceased individual was not a worker, the Ministry of Labour said, according to the report.
“As the investigation is ongoing, no further details are available at this time,” a ministry spokesperson said in the report.
