A worker died Friday afternoon after falling at a construction site in the 500 block of Kincora Drive N.W. in northwest Calgary, according to a report.
Emergency Health Services crews were dispatched around 1:50 p.m. after reports of a fall, Culture Alberta reported, citing Emergency Health Services Alberta. Stuart Brideaux, the agency's public education officer, said paramedics on scene "determined the adult patient was in critical and life-threatening condition," according to the report.
Calgary police arrived roughly 20 minutes later and found the worker in life-threatening condition. The worker was pronounced dead at the scene. Neither their identity nor their employer has been released, per the police alert cited by Culture Alberta.
Alberta Occupational Health and Safety has been notified of the fatality, Culture Alberta reported, noting provincial law requires employers to report such incidents immediately.

Alberta's OHS Code requires employers to protect workers from falls of three metres or more, or shorter falls with unusual risk. Controls include guardrails, fall-arrest systems, travel-restraint systems, safety nets or control zones.
